Bob and Stella Kinney were part of Bond Camp long before its official founding in 1953. In fact, the first decade of Bond Camp meeting minutes were handwritten by Bob himself—a reflection of the time, care, and commitment they poured into building what Bond Camp is today.
Together, Bob and Stella worked tirelessly to support, promote, and grow the mission of Bond Camp. Stella was a familiar face at Camp Ladies Auxiliary meetings throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s, faithfully serving behind the scenes. Bob regularly attended Kaskaskia Men’s Fellowship gatherings across the region, and without fail, he would share about Bond Camp and the life-changing impact it was having for the Kingdom.
They believed deeply in the power of camp—that when people step away from everyday life, God can do something meaningful and lasting.

Even if you never had the opportunity to meet Bob or Stella, you’ve likely experienced part of their legacy. If you’ve spent time at Bond Camp, chances are you’ve sat near the Kinney Bell Tower—or at least heard its bell ring across the grounds.
Their love for Bond Camp didn’t stop with them. It has been passed down through their children and grandchildren, becoming a lasting legacy of generosity and care for future generations.
Because of that legacy, and through the generosity of the Kinney family, Bond Camp is able to offer scholarships to campers who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.
